A TCG is an online trading card game, this one happens to be based on the television series Grey's Anatomy. It's fun, it's a great waste of time and you don't have to keep shoeboxes full of dusty cards under your bed. *g*
I began working on Seattle Grace on February 5, 2008. I had been a member of three previous Grey's tcgs, but all have since closed and I miss them. After some positive feedback on various tcg forums, I decided to jump into the fray. We opened for Prejoin on 2/24/08 and held our Grand Opening on 3/18/08. On September 20, 2008, Kim came onboard as co-owner!
Cards can be earned in a variety of ways. When you join, you will receive three cards from your chosen collecting deck plus four completely random cards. You can earn cards by playing the games, by trading with other members, and sometimes in the posted updates. Another great way to earn cards is by donating various items. Right around your birthday you will receive some goodies as well.
1. Regular cards make up the majority of the decks and are worth one point.
2. Special cards are worth two points and are a little harder to find. You get these by playing games, trading with other members, and sometimes in the updates. Special cards all have a gradient type of border, or you can check the cards page to see how much a particular card is worth.
3. Event cards are worth three points and are given out sparingly. You'll find them on holidays and other special times in the community. If you join after an event card is posted, the only way to get them is by trading or in a card claim if a member leaves.
4. Member cards are worth zero points, but once you've collected ten of them (your own card counts as one of the first ten) you may take three regular cards of your choice. Just remember to write it down in your trade log!
Mastering a deck means that you have collected every card in that deck. Once you have mastered a deck, fill out the mastered form and you will receive two regular cards of choice (or one special card of choice) and two random regular cards.
